LPC Supervision with Jennifer

Jennifer Stock is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor offering both individual and group supervision services for LPC graduates nearing the completion of licensure in Tennessee. She focuses her supervision on individuals who have accrued most of their required hours and plan to go into their own private practice. Jennifer empowers supervisees to feel confident and ready, instead of overwhelmed and nervous about launching out on their own. She enjoys developing therapists on their journey, helping each one find their identity as a clinician and business owner.

While she personally uses Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions in her counseling practice, Jennifer strongly believes that each therapist should use modalities to which they find are effective and fit their personality and skills. She can and will supervise cases based on the various modalities chosen by the supervisee. In some instances, she may suggest that the supervisee collaborate with specific experts in the community in order to best develop their craft.

She uses mostly a consultative approach in supervision, in which she uses insight, encouragement, and “parts work” to help the supervisee become aware of his/her personal strengths as well as areas for development. It can be intimidating for therapists to start their own private practice and Jennifer enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and expertise for running a private-practice business as much as navigating clinical cases. With over 15 years of prior business experience, she helps the supervisee identify their niche, develop an “elevator pitch”, uncover ways to obtain new clientele and assists them to achieve their personal and vocational goals.

One of Jennifer’s specialties is helping other therapists become successful in identifying their passions so that they feel equipped and confident about running their own thriving business.
