A Little About Myself
The name “Seasons Counseling” came from an honest look at the ups and downs in not only my own life but the lives of those I care about. I have experienced seasons of hope and great joy as well as seasons of uncertainty and deep sadness. “Seasons” can encompass a period of time in which feelings, emotions, circumstances, relationships, spirituality, or health defines a fixed moment in your life. They can be positive or negative, long or short. Some can be easily forgotten while others are burned into your memory. I want to thank you for taking time to visit healingseasons.com. It is my aspiration to come alongside you in the midst of whatever season you may find yourself in, where you need an extra dose of support, encouragement or healing.
My name is Jennifer and I am originally from the Midwest. I have a BS in Health Sciences and Psychology from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University.
I have worked in an inpatient hospital setting as well as an outpatient facility where I interacted with adults and teenagers. I began a private practice in Fort Collins, CO where I focused solely on women as clients. I have an eclectic style of Christian counseling and I like to use various resources and methods to accomplish desired change (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Biblical Counseling, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). I am passionate about the emotional healing of women with female-related health issues. Pelvic pain, sexual health issues, post-bariatric surgery, mastectomy surgery, post-abortion care and other medical experiences can take a toll on a woman physically, relationally, emotionally and spiritually. I enjoy partnering with healthcare professionals including physicians, physical therapists and nurse practitioners in order to determine the best solutions to the issues some of my clients present with.
I hold an active LPC-MHSP license in the state of Indiana and in Tennessee. In order to be licensed, one must sit for the NCMHCE exam, NCE exam and a state jurisprudence exam. One also is required to obtain 3000+ post-Master’s Degree-hours to acquire licensure. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor offering both individual and group supervision services for LPC graduates seeking licensure in Tennessee. I enjoy developing therapists on their journey, helping each one find their identity as a clinician and business owner. One of my specialties is helping other therapists become successful in identifying their passions so that they feel equipped and confident about running their own thriving business.
I have spent the majority of my career in healthcare where I have 15+ years of experience working as a pharmaceutical representative, a physician liaison and a Director of Physician Relations. I reside with my husband and our sweet dog in Nashville, TN.
